Edit a new daily evening flagship that delves deeper into the day’s most important or compelling news.
Work with newsletter writer and team leadership to set and execute strategic goals for the newsletter.
Partner with assigned coverage teams from around the CNN and own their newsletter portfolios.
Evaluate and optimize performance of existing newsletters.
Work with news and audience leaders to identify new topics/audience segments to target with newsletters.
Write, edit, produce, and send newsletters as needed.
Regularly pitch new ideas for newsletter products to team leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5-7 years of relevant experience, including writing or editing on a daily deadline.
A copy editor’s eye for style and formatting errors.
Fluency in newsletter best practices and email metrics.
A confident generalist with great news judgment.
A strategic thinker who can connect the team’s daily work to the organization’s larger goals.
A creative thinker who can use data to spot trends, spark new ideas, and generate actionable recommendations.
A clear communicator and proactive collaborator.
