About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Process the company's payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
Handle payroll timecards and verify hours worked, ensuring compliance with labor laws while noting any penalty costs and overtime
Prepare production payroll reports and adjust when necessary
Enter employee information, work hours, tax deductions, and other payroll-related data into the payroll system
Maintain well-organized and current payroll records
Generate and distribute payroll reports to both management and relevant departments
Uphold and assess payroll policies to ensure the prompt and precise handling of payroll transactions, including wages, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
Ensure internal control, as well as compliance with payroll policies
Assist with audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
Identify and propose updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
+3 years of payroll experience preferred
Knowledge in payroll software
Knowledge of payroll processes required
Knowledge US Payroll regulations and tax laws preferred
An exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
