About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Govern, maintain, and continuously improve customer master data across the enterprise
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of customer data to support operational efficiency, financial controls, regulatory compliance, analytics, and customer experience
  • Define and own customer master data standards, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Establish and enforce data definitions, hierarchies, and ownership across systems
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, KYC)
  • Monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency
  • Design and implement preventive and detective controls to reduce duplicates, errors, and downstream impacts
  • Lead root cause analysis and remediation of recurring data quality issues
  • Oversee end-to-end customer master data processes, including customer creation, maintenance, and changes
  • Manage workflows, approvals, SLAs, and escalation procedures
  • Partner with Finance, Order-to-Cash, Sales, Credit, Compliance, Tax, and IT teams to align data requirements
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations impacting customer data (e.g., ERP, CRM, MDM tools)
  • Act as a subject matter expert for customer data in transformation initiatives
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to track data quality, cycle times, and control effectiveness
  • Identify automation, standardization, and simplification opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead, coach, and develop customer master data analysts or specialists
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party data providers, as applicable
  • Communicate data risks, trends, and recommendations to senior stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, finance operations, or shared services
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to see the big picture, identify growth opportunities, and align efforts to achieve long-term goals
  • Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain trust with vendors, clients, and internal teams at all organizational levels
