About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and manage scalable observability platforms for metrics, logs, and traces
- Standardize and automate data ingestion from various sources, using agents and pipelines
- Configure intelligent alerts and build effective dashboards to visualize system health
- Analyze complex data to diagnose issues, find root causes, and prevent future incidents in distributed systems
- Work with application support, operations, and developers to embed observability into the software development lifecycle
- Daily use and administration of tools like Prometheus, Grafana, SolarWinds, Datadog and other leading tools in this space
- Drive adoption of observability best practices, document use cases and enhance data fidelity
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years in an observability engineering
- Strong understanding of on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with container-based platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking.
