About the role
- Build creative advertising solutions across CNN’s full wingspan: linear, digital, audio, social, branded content, events, and newsletters.
- Prospect new clients, close new business, and grow existing relationships through account planning and retention strategies.
- Go client-direct to deepen relationships; manage agency relationships to grow revenue and share of wallet.
- Partner with strategy, research, branded content, production, and editorial teams to deliver bespoke solutions.
- Operate with urgency, creativity, and persistence to lead in the competitive news category.
- Serve as CNN brand ambassador in Washington: attend events, host dinners, and convene clients.
- Deliver clear strategic account plans with measurable growth milestones and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Conduct 10+ quality client engagements per week.

- Experienced Media Professional with Public Affairs Experience
- Thrives at the intersection of News and Policy
- Extensive network of relationships at DC agencies and clients with the advocacy and public affairs space
- Crisp and succinct understanding of Washington power centers, advocacy, nonprofit and public affairs sector
- Ability to serve as brand ambassador in Washington for CNN, attending events, hosting dinners and convening
- Identify and pursue opportunities and market trends needed in Washington to maximize CNN’s impact
- Modern understanding of competitive landscape and has pulse on DC advertising industry
- Passionate about CNN’s legacy and the mission of journalism
