About the role

  • Serve as a transformative leader responsible for shaping Discovery’s internal narrative and employee communications across its global enterprise.
  • Unify internal communications enterprise-wide under one strategic vision, balancing central strategy with local customization and execution.
  • Report jointly to the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer and the Chief People and Culture Officer and work closely with senior executives.
  • Oversee internal communications strategy, cultural integration, enterprise-wide communications leadership, executive messaging, regional and global internal communications support, and crisis communications.
  • Lead development and execution of an innovative, tech-forward, global internal communications strategy aligned with corporate vision, values, and business objectives.
  • Oversee content creation and storytelling across internal channels including email, video, live events, and social platforms.
  • Partner across multiple internal teams and business leaders to foster inclusion, belonging, and shared purpose.
  • Establish governance and best practices for internal communications across business units and geographies.
  • Build and lead a globally distributed team of communicators and creative professionals.
  • Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to measure impact and refine strategies.
  • Ensure consistent, transparent, and inspiring messaging during times of change, transformation, and integration.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in employee communications, bringing fresh thinking and future-forward strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in internal communications, or related fields within a global organization — ideally in media, entertainment, or technology.
  • Proven success in leading enterprise-wide communications and strategies that drive culture, alignment, and performance.
  • Exceptional storytelling and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across all levels.
  • Deep understanding of employee experience, change management, and organizational development.
  • Experience leading employee listening programs and translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong strategic thinking, creative vision, and operational execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing communications during periods of transformation, integration, or cultural evolution.
  • Collaborative leader with strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
