About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create simple, modular, extensible, and functional designs for products and solutions
  • Develop complex, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems using Spring Boot, Java, Cosmos, Azure SQL, and Cassandra
  • Work with the Product team to understand customer requirements and analyze architecture gaps
  • Drive production deployments using automated CI and deployment tools
  • Provide subject-matter-expert support for the functional domain
  • Analyze product-wide system performance for reliability, operability, performance efficiency, and security
  • Create detailed designs using mock screens, pseudocode, and functional logic
  • Act as technical leader with end-to-end ownership of large-scale product/module design and architecture
  • Ensure products are well designed, well built, flexible, and extensible
  • Triage and troubleshoot issues, including regression testing, root cause analysis, and root cause corrective action
  • Guide team members in RCA and RCCA
  • Perform code and design reviews and guide the test team with user scenarios
  • Optimize products for cloud infrastructure cost and performance
  • Partner with senior and junior teammates throughout the software development lifecycle, from development to debugging and operational excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in the design and development of highly scalable distributed applications and platforms
  • Experience building a “Code, Deploy, run” pipeline using DevOps best practices and CI/CD tools
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Ability to balance long-term and short-term implications of design decisions and own technical debt/modernization
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, microservices, and cloud native architecture
  • Hands-on experience developing microservices and RESTful web services in Java SpringBoot, Spring Kafka, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud native architecture, microservice architecture, service registries, ELK/Splunk, VMs, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of at least one of Azure or Google Cloud Platform
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of at least one cloud-based project
  • Strong hands-on development skills for prototyping technical solutions
  • Proficiency in new and emerging technologies
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, facilitation, consensus-building, influencing, and persuasion skills
  • Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
  • AI/LLM experience is better to have, including experience with LLM APIs, core AI/LLM concepts, production-grade agentic systems, and LLM serving optimizations
  • Bachelor's degree in a listed computer-related field and 4 years' software engineering experience, OR 6 years' software engineering experience
  • Master's degree and 2 years' experience is preferred
