Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered software systems
Translate domain-level strategies into system-level implementations
Align engineering teams and platform stakeholders
Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices
Maintain operational readiness, observability, and service performance
Provide technical guidance through code reviews, incident analysis, and prevention strategies
Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning

Oversee the full software development lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Extensive experience designing and delivering scalable, cloud-native software systems with AI integration
Ability to lead system-level technical execution and ensure architectural integrity and operational excellence
Strong expertise in software development lifecycle, DevOps, CI/CD, and resilient, observable services
Experience mentoring engineers and fostering continuous learning and innovation
Proficiency in problem solving, debugging, and technical decision-making aligned with business goals
Effective collaboration and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Commitment to high standards in software security, reliability engineering, and platform design
Preferred: Master's degree and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
Must comply with Walmart's drug-free workplace policy
