About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities’ refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
Support stores and store associates
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy, and environmental guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need

2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling
Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently
