About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, communicating priorities, removing obstacles, measuring progress, and developing contingency plans
Supervise and develop associates through selection, training, mentoring, duty assignment, performance expectations, evaluations, recognition, coaching, and team-building
Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, ethics, integrity, compliance, and the Open Door Policy
Evaluate the effectiveness of business plans, programs, and initiatives and apply suggestions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Collaborate with architects and engineering leaders on software architecture and architectural decisions
Build stakeholder relationships across Walmart and align roles, responsibilities, and project cadences
Define goals, stage gates, critical delivery paths, and deliverables for large-scale programs with dependent workstreams
Improve engineering resource utilization by clarifying priorities, establishing milestones, and securing executive buy-in
Establish a resource capacity allocation process and tool
Navigate program setbacks using problem-solving and decision-making skills
Collaborate with product managers to translate personas and business process needs into features and user stories

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area, plus 6 years' experience; or 8 years' experience in a related area
Around 18+ years of technical experience
10+ years of leadership experience as a Technical Program Manager in software delivery within a related industry
Experience managing aggressive schedules and significant business impact
Ability to manage and motivate technical program managers and engineers
Experience supporting and executing a large software portfolio with multiple business stakeholders
Experience with system/platform design concepts, architecture, technical design, services, APIs, and technologies
Ability to collaborate with product managers and translate business needs into features and user stories
Expertise in change and risk management methodologies, project management tools and techniques, project tracking tools, dashboards, and reports
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Deep understanding of JIRA, JIRA Align, Big Picture, and Airtable
