About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design, integration, and optimization of automation systems to enhance operational efficiency
Partner with internal and external software teams to ensure required functionality is delivered on time
Use data analysis and visualization tools to develop insights for strategic decisions
Collaborate cross-functionally to identify automation opportunities and resolve technical challenges
Manage project timelines, risks, and resources for automation initiatives
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing workflows and recommending enhancements
Oversee financial evaluations to ensure automation projects meet return-on-investment targets
Lead development of new capabilities within Walmart’s Ambient Automation program for less-than-case pack processes
Transform Walmart’s distribution network through automation, data analysis, process improvement, project management, and technology integration

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience in automation system design, integration, and control system development within complex operational environments
Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and visualization tools
Strong project management skills, including risk assessment and contingency planning
Expertise in process improvement, operational excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
Knowledge of mechatronics principles relevant to supply chain automation
Ability to develop business cases and perform financial analyses to evaluate automation investments and returns
Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 2 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area
Must comply with Walmart’s drug-free workplace and no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job
