About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete maintenance jobs
- Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders
- Support stores and store associates and document repair activities
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
- Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
- Execute routine maintenance tasks under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager
- Follow established maintenance schedules and guidelines
- Conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairs to uphold facility safety, functionality, and appearance
Requirements
What you’ll need- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Able to move up and down ladders frequently
- Comfortable working at heights frequently
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Able to work in various temperatures
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record report
- Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 4 years' experience in those areas
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- Must complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
