About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install HVAC systems, building equipment, ductwork, and control components
  • Configure and calibrate digital controls, building automation systems, and low-ambient HVAC applications
  • Interpret layout plans, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and routine operational checks
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for HVAC and Energy Management Systems
  • Maintain documentation for maintenance, inspections, parts usage, work orders, expenses, and warranty claims
  • Operate tools, equipment, company vehicles, and motor vehicles safely
  • Follow manager and training technician instructions and support training plans
  • Communicate service needs, task status, and corrective actions to facility operators and partners
  • Participate in on-call rotations approximately every 4–6 weeks
  • Manage assignments, scheduling, parts, materials, refrigerants, tools, and vendor relationships using digital systems
  • Drive company vehicles and coordinate vehicle maintenance and required documentation
  • Work or train at multiple facilities or distant locations
  • Collaborate with management, co-workers, customers, and business partners
  • Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, provide feedback, and support quality and timelines
  • Develop and implement processes and practices, monitor results, and identify improvement opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Vocational or technical HVAC certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related commercial HVAC and building controls
  • Alternatively, 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical, plumbing, material-handling equipment, or related trades
  • Alternatively, 2 years’ store experience
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Valid EPA Section 608 Certification for handling and servicing refrigerants
  • Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
  • No more than two moving violations in the last three years
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
  • No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, building controls, mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Ability to use digital tools, scheduling platforms, and documentation systems
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, vehicles, and required PPE
  • Ability to work or train at multiple facilities or distant locations
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations approximately every 4–6 weeks
  • Compliance with OSHA standards, company safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and drug-free workplace policy
