About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install HVAC systems, building equipment, ductwork, and control components
  • Configure and calibrate direct digital controls, building automation systems, and low-ambient HVAC applications
  • Interpret layout plans, schematics, and technical documentation for installations
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-related HVAC and facility-system issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and routine operational checks
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs under manager or training technician supervision
  • Maintain documentation of maintenance, inspections, parts usage, work orders, expenses, and warranty claims
  • Operate tools, equipment, company vehicles, and motor vehicles safely
  • Participate in on-call rotations approximately every 4–6 weeks
  • Manage assignments, scheduling, parts, materials, refrigerant levels, and vendor relationships using digital tools
  • Complete service calls and support operations within an assigned region
  • Work or train at multiple facilities or distant locations
  • Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required vehicle maintenance
  • Communicate service needs, task status, and corrective actions with facility operators and business partners
  • Collaborate with management, co-workers, customers, and other business partners
  • Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, support timelines and quality, and help others adapt to change
  • Develop and implement processes and practices to meet business needs
  • Promote compliance with company policies, safety protocols, ethics, integrity, and regulatory standards
  • Support continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies and skills

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Vocational or technical HVAC certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related commercial HVAC and building controls
  • Alternatively, 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical, plumbing, material handling equipment, or related trades
  • Alternatively, 2 years’ store experience
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Valid EPA Section 608 Certification for handling and servicing refrigerants
  • Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
  • No more than two moving violations in the last three years
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
  • No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
  • Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, digital tools, scheduling platforms, and documentation systems
  • Ability to follow OSHA standards, company safety protocols, applicable regulations, and PPE requirements
  • Preferred: completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC program
  • Preferred: experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
