About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Install HVAC systems, building equipment, ductwork, and control components
Configure and calibrate direct digital controls, building automation systems, and low-ambient HVAC applications
Interpret layout plans, schematics, and technical documentation for installations
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-related HVAC and facility-system issues
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and routine operational checks
Coordinate maintenance and repairs under manager or training technician supervision
Maintain documentation of maintenance, inspections, parts usage, work orders, expenses, and warranty claims
Operate tools, equipment, company vehicles, and motor vehicles safely
Participate in on-call rotations approximately every 4–6 weeks
Manage assignments, scheduling, parts, materials, refrigerant levels, and vendor relationships using digital tools
Complete service calls and support operations within an assigned region
Work or train at multiple facilities or distant locations
Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required vehicle maintenance
Communicate service needs, task status, and corrective actions with facility operators and business partners
Collaborate with management, co-workers, customers, and other business partners
Lead and participate in teams, coordinate work assignments, support timelines and quality, and help others adapt to change
Develop and implement processes and practices to meet business needs
Promote compliance with company policies, safety protocols, ethics, integrity, and regulatory standards
Support continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies and skills

Requirements

What you’ll need

Vocational or technical HVAC certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related commercial HVAC and building controls
Alternatively, 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical, plumbing, material handling equipment, or related trades
Alternatively, 2 years’ store experience
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
Valid EPA Section 608 Certification for handling and servicing refrigerants
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
No more than two moving violations in the last three years
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, digital tools, scheduling platforms, and documentation systems
Ability to follow OSHA standards, company safety protocols, applicable regulations, and PPE requirements
Preferred: completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC program
Preferred: experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
