About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and scale data science solutions for outstanding Marketplace business outcomes
Work with data scientists and machine learning engineers to develop, implement, and test scalable marketing intelligence solutions
Consult with Marketplace business stakeholders on algorithm-based recommendations and translate them into business actions
Mentor junior members
Individually execute multiple projects concurrently
Manage continuous improvement of data science and machine learning initiatives using industry best practices and current research
Propose, conduct, and report original and collaborative research, including publications
Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethics standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics-related field; or master's degree and 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field
Very good knowledge of machine learning and statistics foundations
Significant original practical contributions to machine learning
Experience with state-of-the-art supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms on real-world problems, preferably in e-commerce
Strong Python coding skills
Ability to work with at least one other programming language, such as Java or Scala
Expert in SQL/Hive
Ability to work with Spark
Extensive hands-on experience building and deploying state-of-the-art classic machine learning and deep learning models
Strong business understanding and stakeholder management capabilities
Experience mentoring data scientists in developing machine learning solutions
Excellent academic or industrial track record of original and collaborative research, with publications
