About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage inventory plans by analyzing projections, monitoring performance, and approving markdown strategies
Oversee third-party vendor relationships, contract compliance, operational efficiency, and budget adherence
Lead execution of business plans by identifying needs, removing obstacles, and aligning resources
Develop and implement merchandising programs and communication initiatives supporting store operations and corporate objectives
Analyze business objectives and forecasts to inform strategic planning and resource allocation
Foster talent development through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning
Promote integrity and compliance by modeling company values and maintaining ethical standards
Lead Wireless Operations initiatives supporting wireless activations across Walmart stores and online
Collaborate with national carriers, service providers, store teams, and internal partners
Enhance Walmart’s custom activation platform and deliver operational excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Merchandising, or related field and 5 years’ experience in business management, merchandising, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in business management, merchandising, or related area
1 year’s supervisory experience
Proven expertise in merchandising and operations management
Strong leadership capabilities
Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and profit and loss management
Ability to develop and execute business strategies aligned with organizational goals and customer needs
Project management experience, including cross-functional initiatives and removing operational barriers
Experience managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and operational performance
Strong analytical skills for interpreting business trends and developing inventory and markdown plans
Commitment to continuous learning, talent development, and high-performing team environments
Drug-free workplace policy compliance
Ability to comply with Walmart’s no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job
