About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, code, build, test, deploy, and document highly scalable cloud-based solutions
- Drive development and implementation of next-generation Walmart products and platforms
- Lead architecture and design reviews within and across teams
- Conduct code reviews across teams and set quality standards
- Engage with Product Management and business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver products
- Identify technical risks and develop alternative solutions
- Mentor, motivate, and guide team members on technical challenges
- Interact with engineering teams across geographies and contribute to the technology community
- Develop enhanced processes and technical solutions supporting strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering leads, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives
- Shape future product roadmaps with senior leadership
- Participate in hiring and build high-performing agile teams
- Gather requirements from business owners and technical teams in India and globally
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; or 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- 7+ years of experience in application development using Python-based REST APIs and Next.js
- Experience with containerized deployments on Kubernetes using Docker
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable Python-based applications and microservices
- Deep understanding of system design principles
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and testing tools
- Proficiency with Prometheus and Grafana
- Exposure to GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
- Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud
- Experience with Next.js and React.js frontend integration
- Basic understanding of AIOps, LLMs, Generative AI, and Agentic AI concepts
- Experience developing highly scalable and available enterprise-grade products
- Hands-on experience in Agile development environments
- Strong knowledge of application security concepts and enterprise security best practices
- Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies as project requirements evolve
