Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks, aligned with roadmap priorities
Drive the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and architectural alignment
Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features
Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions and engineering best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; or 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
Strong proficiency in Java and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and C++
Experience with full software development lifecycle activities, including design reviews, CI/CD deployment, testing, and maintenance
Ability to design APIs and develop software prototypes
Skills in mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions
Data-driven decision-making capabilities to define metrics and optimize engineering processes
Effective collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Ability to work in a drug-free workplace and comply with Walmart’s no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job
