About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
- Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
- Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
- Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
- Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy, and environmental guidelines
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance
- Large-scale rack refrigeration experience
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
- Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification plus 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or commercial HVAC/R and building controls; or 4 years of relevant experience
- Where required, HVAC-R/mechanical journeyman qualification
- Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions in the last 5 years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last 3 years
- No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last 3 years
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to move up and down ladders and work at heights frequently
- Ability to complete required safety training
- Preferred: completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program
- Preferred: experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Preferred: mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located
- Preferred: experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Preferred: experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
