Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and lead Marketplace-wide strategies for reliability, operational excellence, and engineering maturity
  • Partner with engineering leaders on cross-organizational initiatives spanning availability, observability, incident management, engineering productivity, and AI
  • Establish engineering standards, operating mechanisms, and organizational metrics across Marketplace
  • Drive complex, multi-organization programs and influence technical direction and engineering strategy
  • Measure outcomes through operational intelligence and continuously improve engineering performance at organizational scale
  • Partner with engineering executives to improve reliability, operational excellence, developer productivity, and engineering maturity across thousands of engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area
  • Option 2: 9 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area
  • Experience leading large-scale technical programs across multiple engineering organizations
  • Strong technical understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, software delivery, reliability engineering, and operational excellence
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and align engineering organizations around common technical objectives
  • Experience driving organizational transformation through engineering standards, operational metrics, and cross-functional leadership
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and executive presence
  • Ability to lead through influence rather than authority
  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable engineering and business outcomes in large, complex technology organizations
