About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the mining and development of category assortments and design strategies
  • Analyze internal and external data, market trends, and competitor insights to identify strategic opportunities
  • Develop and inform category modular assortments and merchandising design layouts aligned with category strategy
  • Analyze sales patterns to determine store clusters and customize modular assortments
  • Drive execution of business plans by setting priorities, removing obstacles, and measuring performance
  • Mine insights to deliver culturally relevant assortments for shoppers
  • Collaborate with buyers, partners, Food Merchandising stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • Oversee modular execution accuracy and support continuous improvement across store clusters

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, Marketing, Mathematics, or related field and 3 years’ experience in retail, replenishment, supplier sales, finance, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in retail, replenishment, supplier sales, finance, or related area
  • Proven expertise in assortment strategy, category management, and merchandising
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, and business analytics
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with buyers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Commitment to integrity, ethical standards, and continuous improvement
  • Preferred: Category Management, Microsoft Office, Project Management, Retail Industry, Supervising Associates
  • Must comply with Walmart’s drug-free workplace and no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job
