About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute food safety and health and wellness product recalls and removals
  • Provide on-call coverage and support to stores, clubs, and business partners outside office hours and on weekends
  • Craft customer notifications and respond to FDA, USDA, and state regulatory recall effectiveness checks
  • Update and maintain the corporate Seafood HACCP plan, Preventive Controls plan, and Sanitary Food Transportation Act for the Grocery Distribution Center network
  • Manage, monitor, and improve third-party Food Safety Audits for Distribution Centers and Fulfillment Centers
  • Make accept/reject decisions for incoming truckloads based on food safety risk and time/temperatures
  • Work cross-functionally with suppliers, supply chain network, and internal food safety compliance teams
  • Support food safety compliance across supply chain DC and FC networks as a Food Safety Subject Matter Expert
  • Model and guide compliance with food safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor regulatory trends, provide insights to leadership, and support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office
  • Extensive experience in governance and compliance strategy
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to manage compliance risk and develop mitigation strategies
  • Leadership experience mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex compliance information clearly
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret legislation, conduct impact assessments, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive continuous improvement in compliance and ethics programs
  • Preferred: Master's in Business Administration
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional certification
