About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute food safety and health and wellness product recalls and removals
Provide on-call coverage and support to stores, clubs, and business partners outside office hours and on weekends
Craft customer notifications and respond to FDA, USDA, and state regulatory recall effectiveness checks
Update and maintain the corporate Seafood HACCP plan, Preventive Controls plan, and Sanitary Food Transportation Act for the Grocery Distribution Center network
Manage, monitor, and improve third-party Food Safety Audits for Distribution Centers and Fulfillment Centers
Make accept/reject decisions for incoming truckloads based on food safety risk and time/temperatures
Work cross-functionally with suppliers, supply chain network, and internal food safety compliance teams
Support food safety compliance across supply chain DC and FC networks as a Food Safety Subject Matter Expert
Model and guide compliance with food safety policies and procedures
Monitor regulatory trends, provide insights to leadership, and support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area
2 years’ supervisory experience
3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office
Extensive experience in governance and compliance strategy
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
Proven ability to manage compliance risk and develop mitigation strategies
Leadership experience mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
Excellent communication skills for conveying complex compliance information clearly
Strong analytical capabilities to interpret legislation, conduct impact assessments, and provide actionable recommendations
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive continuous improvement in compliance and ethics programs
Preferred: Master's in Business Administration
Preferred: Project Management Professional certification
