About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities
Support stores and store associates
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, Walmart refrigeration/HVAC safety policy, and environmental guidelines
Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work frequently at heights

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 10 years of experience in commercial refrigeration/HVAC maintenance, or 8 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience plus an AAS in air conditioning and refrigeration
Large-scale rack refrigeration experience
Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
At least 18 years old
High school diploma or equivalent, unless qualifying under the stated AAS alternative
Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
Ability to use hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and related equipment
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work frequently at heights
Completion of required safety training
Preferred: completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate degree in applied science, air conditioning and refrigeration
Preferred: excellent driving record
Preferred: prior experience with glycol and CO2 systems
