Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions
- Operate and evolve de-identification and tokenization pipelines on two on-premises vendor platforms through CLI-driven workflows
- Build transformations and joins to adjust data granularity and satisfy risk thresholds under the Expert Determination methodology
- Own daily and weekly refresh cycles feeding internal analytics and external pharma partners
- Translate HIPAA, DGC, and Expert Determination requirements into engineering controls with Legal, Privacy, and Compliance
- Implement data governance practices for regulatory and ethical compliance
- Automate workflows and optimize ETL processes using modern tools and cloud platforms
- Conduct data quality assessments and metadata management
- Support data sourcing, experimentation, evaluation, and production for health-focused products
- Collaborate with product, data science, and other data engineering teams, owning model quality, insights, and measurable impact
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related field; or 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related field; or Master’s degree in Computer Science and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related field
- 3 years’ experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions
- Expertise in data engineering, data pipeline management, and large-scale data processing
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ETL frameworks
- Experience with cloud data platforms, workflow automation, and CI/CD practices
- Knowledge of data governance, regulatory compliance, and sensitive healthcare data such as PHI/PII
- Ability to design and implement data models and metadata management using modern tools
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka, REST APIs, and Git
- Ability to work with HIPAA, DGC, and Expert Determination requirements
