About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to optimize system performance and extend equipment life.
- Maintain refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and reach-ins, adhering to EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety standards.
- Manage service calls, documentation, and coordinate with external providers as needed.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance.
- Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Competence in operating heavy machinery and company vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical issues and collaborate with team members and customers.
- Capability to lead and mentor less-experienced technicians and manage escalated service issues.
