About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
Configures and calibrates low ambient systems and direct digital controls to meet operational specifications.
Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues across commercial and industrial systems.
Implements preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and minimize downtimes.
Ensures the proper operation of HVAC systems and Energy Management Systems through routine checks.
Leads field teams and mentors less-experienced Technicians and Apprentices on technical procedures and safety practices.
Manages escalated service issues and coordinates with external service providers as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, or 4 years’ experience without certification.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report with no major violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
Preferred: Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program; experience with software like Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams; and using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
