Key responsibilities & impact

As a Senior Data Scientist at Walmart, you will leverage advanced analytical techniques and domain expertise to identify, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that enhance business outcomes.
Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains and databases to support analytical initiatives.
Perform data quality assessments and ensure data integrity for accurate model development.
Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using programming languages such as Python and SQL.
Evaluate model performance through rigorous validation techniques and optimize for scalability and sustainability.
Create clear and insightful data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
Mentor junior team members on analytical methods and best practices.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
Extensive experience in data science and advanced analytical modeling techniques, including machine learning and statistical methods.
Proficiency in Python programming and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau to communicate complex insights effectively.
Strong knowledge of data source identification, data quality assessment, and data governance principles within distributed data environments.
Ability to develop, test, validate, and deploy scalable analytical models aligned with business objectives.
Demonstrated expertise in translating business requirements into data-driven solutions and providing actionable recommendations.
Experience mentoring junior associates and collaborating cross-functionally to drive data-enabled decision-making.
