About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Defines and leads the enterprise Agent Builder function — establishing the operating model, quality standards, and portfolio strategy for how Walmart designs, deploys, and scales production-grade autonomous agents.
  • Leads Distinguished, Principal/Staff Builders, and Senior Agent Builders.
  • Engages directly with EVP-level stakeholders.
  • Owns the enterprise agent portfolio, ensuring every program delivers measurable business outcomes.
  • Engages directly with EVP-level business partners to identify high-value automation opportunities.
  • Provides technical and strategic guidance across the portfolio — reviewing architectures, flagging risks.
  • Hires, develops, and leads Distinguished Agent Builders, Principal/Staff Agent Builders, and Senior Agent Builders.
  • Builds a high-performance culture rooted in ownership, speed, and measurable impact.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree + 10 yrs in business ops, strategy, product, tech, or AI/automation.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 9 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. 4 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
