About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services to power Walmart’s Centralized Scaling platform
- Write clean, efficient code primarily in Go, and deploy services to Kubernetes-based environments
- Build and enhance workflows to proactively detect and mitigate infrastructure risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and architects to improve system performance and resilience
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and performance tuning to maintain engineering excellence
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying scalable backend systems in production environments
- Proficiency in Go (Golang), with a strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, or AWS)
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging systems
- Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures and algorithms
- Experience with distributed version control like Git or similar
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area (or) 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
