About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support Walmart’s digital experiences
- Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful features and solutions
- Build scalable and reliable systems that handle large volumes of traffic and data
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following engineering best practices
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems across environments
- Contribute to performance optimization, security improvements, and system resilience
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Microservice architecture and design
- Proficiency in Java or Golang, Spring Boot
- Experience working with distributed systems and teams
- Ability to build products with focus on testability, someone who loves test coverage
- Proficient knowledge and experience with Kafka Queues, Cosmos DB, SQL
- Familiarity with GenAI/LLMs and related tooling ecosystem a plus
- Knowledge of Build Manager (Maven or Gradle), Distributed Version Control (GIT), and Continuous Integration (Jenkins)
- Proficient skills in troubleshooting live applications and assessing performance bottlenecks of applications running on Linux
- A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level
