About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards within their area of responsibility.
- Monitor laws and policies, conduct research, and develop strategies to address compliance gaps.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and implementation of compliance initiatives.
- Lead impact assessments, manage legislative tracking, and support long-term regulatory forecasting.
- Foster a culture of integrity and accountability, promote continuous improvement, and provide guidance to associates to uphold company values and ethical conduct.
- Maintain Walmart's Energy Benchmarking Portfolio by staying up to date on all reporting requirements and program changes that could impact the business's bottom line.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SMA) on Building Performance Standards (BPS) across Walmart's real estate portfolio.
- Resolve compliance concerns through data collection, reporting, and timely updates.
- Work closely with internal teams such as legal, real estate, energy, and sustainability.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 2 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
- 2 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
- Proven expertise in compliance management and regulatory compliance within complex environments.
- Experience in the energy industry across various sectors.
- An understanding of deregulated energy markets.
- Previous experience with Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) with an understanding of Renewable Portfolio Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal controls and lead compliance assessments effectively.
- Experience collaborating with senior leadership and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to analyze legislation, assess regulatory impacts, and develop strategic responses.
- Excellent project management capabilities with a focus on driving results and accountability.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and fostering a culture of integrity and transparency.
- A history of thriving in a team environment.
