Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and steer a comprehensive network of reliable carriers, prioritizing efficient and cost-effective freight movement.
Negotiate competitive rates with carriers to drive profitability, minimize cost, and exceed service requirements while exercising sound judgment and strategic thinking.
Book loads tendered from customers, trace loads as needed, and handle any other related duties.
Provide exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded, and building strong relationships.
Effectively communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams through written and verbal means, ensuring timely updates and resolution of any issues, while fostering open collaboration.
Employ critical thinking and sound decision-making skills to resolve operational problems and optimize carrier performance, demonstrating resourcefulness and adaptability.
Embrace a customer-centric mindset, identifying opportunities for process improvements and suggesting solutions to enhance operational efficiency, driving innovation and progress.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A background in transportation operations (+2yrs) or bachelor’s degree
Be a problem solver
Be customer-centric and enjoy building relationships
Able to learn and adapt quickly and handle multiple projects at one time
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5+ years of experience logistics, supply chain management, brokerage, or a related field (for preferred)
Advanced degree or certification in supply chain management or related field (for preferred)
Carrier management experience (for preferred)
