About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of software engineers in designing and building cutting-edge e-commerce solutions using Java and modern frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Develop and oversee the long-term strategy, technical design, and architectural decisions for the team, ensuring optimal JVM performance and system scalability.
- Drive software development processes including Java coding standards, rigorous code reviews, testing, and operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product management, and other stakeholders to define, design, and ship new features.
- Coach and mentor team members in their professional development while fostering an environment of innovation, specifically nurturing advanced Java engineering skills.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- A proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale projects, preferably in an e-commerce retail environment.
- Deep technical expertise and strong hands-on coding skills in Java (Java 8/11/17+), Spring/Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and a solid understanding of JVM internals, concurrency, and memory management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills with experience in Agile development.
- A desire to keep up with technology trends in the Java ecosystem, encourage growth in others, and strong problem-solving skills.
