About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive safety initiatives within transportation operations.
- Plan safety events, conduct audits, and deliver strategic presentations to align stakeholders.
- Foster strong partnerships with external carriers and internal teams to enhance safety culture.
- Monitor and report on carrier compliance and emerging safety trends to leadership.
- Build and maintain relationships with external transportation leaders and carriers to enhance safety and capacity.
- Oversee carrier qualification processes and ensure adherence to company safety standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify improvement opportunities and support continuous safety enhancements.
- Provide coaching and development to associates, fostering accountability and high performance.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related area and 2 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, business, or related area.
- 4 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, business, or related area.
- Proven experience in safety training, safety audits, and accident prevention within complex operational environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and motivate teams to achieve safety goals.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety qualification demonstrating expertise in regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in conducting accident analysis and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners and internal business units.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor safety performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
