About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance, while integrating advanced AI/ML components to enhance platform capabilities.
- Own delivery of scoped features and components through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
- Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using languages such as Java, Scala, & React driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and apply object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
- Mentor peers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Strong technical acumen in platform design, component services, and iterative development methodologies.
- Proven ability to deliver scoped features and manage full software lifecycle including CI/CD, automated testing, and debugging.
- Expertise in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.
- Demonstrated skills in code review, documentation-based coding, and maintaining high-quality, maintainable software.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work across teams and translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and mentoring within engineering teams.
