About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set enterprise personalization vision and success metrics.
Serve as enterprise thought leader on personalization and influence senior leadership on priorities, investment decisions, and performance optimization.
Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, eCommerce, Membership, Data & Analytics, and Technology teams to ensure personalization strategies are embedded into channel plans and operating models.
Align and sequence the enterprise personalization roadmap.
Define the member understanding foundation.
Design and run causal learning loops.
Own NBA use case definition and decision logic.
Embed enterprise guardrails into decisioning.
Institutionalize measurement and feedback.
Drive enterprise-grade scalability.
Cultivate an environment where Sam's culture of Member first, ownership & excellence in execution, human connection, and collaboration can thrive.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 7 years' experience in an analytics related field.
Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field.
9 years' experience in an analytics or related field. 3 years' supervisory experience.
Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.
Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
Supervisory experience.
Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices.
