About the role
- Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering their professional development and career growth.

- Direct the architectural design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the Health and Wellness data lake.
- Oversee the creation and optimization of robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for both real-time and batch data processing.
- Guide the implementation and management of enterprise-level data warehouse solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to develop and launch new data-driven products.
- Drive the end-to-end development of scalable data and analytics solutions to address key business needs.
- Establish and champion best practices for data quality, integrity, and reliability across all systems.
- Implement and enforce data governance and security policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations like HIPAA.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Possess a minimum of 12 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a proven track record.
- Demonstrate successful experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
- Have at least 3 years of leadership experience, effectively managing and mentoring data engineering teams.
- Previous experience in the healthcare, pharmacy, or life sciences domain is highly preferred.
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and building data-intensive applications.
- Possess extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
- Show strong expertise in designing and orchestrating data pipelines using tools like Airflow.
- Have hands-on experience with big data processing frameworks, particularly PySpark, for large-scale data manipulation.
- Exhibit advanced SQL skills for complex data querying, analysis, and performance tuning.
- Be familiar with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Display proven leadership ability with a team-first mentality and a passion for mentoring engineers.
- Possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Maintain a strategic and analytical mindset, with a strong ability to solve complex problems and drive innovation.
