About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering their professional development and career growth.
Cultivate a team culture of innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
Direct the architectural design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the Health and Wellness data lake.
Oversee the creation and optimization of robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for both real-time and batch data processing.
Guide the implementation and management of enterprise-level data warehouse solutions.
Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to develop and launch new data-driven products.
Drive the end-to-end development of scalable data and analytics solutions to address key business needs.
Establish and champion best practices for data quality, integrity, and reliability across all systems.
Implement and enforce data governance and security policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations like HIPAA.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
Possess a minimum of 12 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a proven track record.
Demonstrate successful experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
Have at least 3 years of leadership experience, effectively managing and mentoring data engineering teams.
Previous experience in the healthcare, pharmacy, or life sciences domain is highly preferred.
Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and building data-intensive applications.
Possess extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
Show strong expertise in designing and orchestrating data pipelines using tools like Airflow.
Have hands-on experience with big data processing frameworks, particularly PySpark, for large-scale data manipulation.
Exhibit advanced SQL skills for complex data querying, analysis, and performance tuning.
Be familiar with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to translate data into actionable business insights.
Display proven leadership ability with a team-first mentality and a passion for mentoring engineers.
Possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
Maintain a strategic and analytical mindset, with a strong ability to solve complex problems and drive innovation.
