About the role

  • Develop Edge cloud database systems that monitor, predict, and resolve issues
  • Contribute to building and supporting reliable database platforms
  • Work with experienced engineers to implement solutions for Walmart Technology teams
  • Assist in developing and maintaining database solutions and platforms
  • Help implement architecture patterns for scalability and performance
  • Support the creation of observability and monitoring interfaces
  • Write code that is readable, maintainable, and efficient
  • Collaborate with engineering partners and cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Familiarity with Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, GoLang, and Ansible
  • Experience with React or similar JavaScript frameworks is a plus
  • Understanding of containerization and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to RDBMS database architecture (e.g., Postgres, MariaDB)
  • Basic understanding of caching, logging, performance tuning, and monitoring
  • Experience with GitHub and version control best practices
  • Exposure to unit testing and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins
  • Comfortable working in a distributed team and communicating asynchronously
