About the role
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in laboratory testing procedures for product performance and reliability.
- Perform physical, mechanical, and performance testing on products and components using standardized test methods.
- Interpret and apply industry testing standards to ensure product compliance and safety.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring instruments are performing within specification.
- Record, analyze, and report on test results with high accuracy and traceability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Merchant, Quality, and Sourcing teams to align on testing needs.
- Support documentation for audits, product certifications, and internal quality reviews.
- Uphold lab safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in lab operations.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, etc.)
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in product or material testing labs
- Experience applying industry standards in a QA or compliance setting
- Strong working knowledge of lab equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Ability to interpret test specifications and document detailed, technical test results.
- Experience working in consumer product compliance, furniture, general merchandise, or similar industries (preferred)
- Familiarity with Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS), SharePoint, or digital QA tools (preferred)
- Exposure to third-party certification processes or internal audit support (preferred)
