About the role
- Lead the applied AI strategy for developer experience, leveraging program analysis, LLM integration, and predictive feedback systems to create deeply intelligent workflows.
- Architect AI-powered systems that analyze code, surface insights, and automate high-friction engineering tasks.
- Integrate LLMs, agentic workflows, and program analysis directly into the SDLC to improve code quality, reliability, and velocity.
- Build adaptive, self-improving workflows using telemetry, developer behavior signals, and continuous feedback loops.
- Define and drive technical strategy for applied ML across Developer Experience, influencing standards, governance, architecture, and platform direction.
- Partner with product, platform, and research teams to operationalize cutting-edge ML capabilities into scalable enterprise services.
- Mentor senior engineers and serve as a trusted technical authority on intelligent developer tooling across Walmart Global Tech.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area, or 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Deep expertise in applying AI, and program analysis to enhance software development workflows.
- Experience building ML- or LLM-powered developer tools, code intelligence systems, or agentic development workflows.
- Proven ability to architect enterprise-scale AI systems that automate or accelerate engineering tasks.
- Strong programming and systems engineering skills (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
- Hands-on experience in CI/CD, cloud platforms, and developer tooling.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, including mentoring senior engineers and partnering effectively across product, platform, and research teams.
