About the role
- Provide practical legal guidance on Marketplace payments products.
- Collaborate with technology teams to evaluate and advise on agentic marketplace e-commerce initiatives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with payment service providers.
- Develop guidance documents, playbooks, and policies to support Marketplace payments operations.
- Engage and manage outside counsel for specialized regulatory matters.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 8+ years of legal experience in payments, merchant acquiring, fintech, financial services, commercial banking, invoice financing/factoring, or lending/advance products.
- Strong understanding of U.S. payments regulations including money transmission and AML/CTF.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements with payments, acquiring, financing, or factoring partners.
