About the role
- Work in a complex ecosystem that combines software, firmware, and hardware, contributing to a deeply integrated product experience.
- Act as a technical leader and role model within a high-performance, multidisciplinary team.
- Drive architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy for the Android platform.
- Own the full lifecycle of solutions — from discovery and definition to design, development, release, monitoring, and iteration.
- Lead large, cross-team initiatives with high business impact.
- Represent the Android domain in company-wide technical discussions and strategic decisions.
- Contribute to roadmap definition and OKRs, ensuring alignment between technical investments and company strategy.
- Identify scalability, reliability, and performance bottlenecks and proactively propose structural improvements.
- Build state-of-the-art Android applications integrating REST services and Bluetooth connectivity.
- Collaborate closely with embedded, backend, and platform teams to design APIs and evolve system architecture.
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar of technical excellence across the organization.
- Improve engineering effectiveness through better tooling, CI/CD practices, observability, and development workflows.
- Partner with Product, Design, and stakeholders to balance technical excellence with business outcomes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and maintaining Android applications in production environments.
- Proven experience operating as a technical leader or Staff-level engineer.
- Strong expertise in Android architecture patterns with the ability to evolve them pragmatically.
- Deep knowledge of Kotlin + Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices.
- Strong understanding of concurrency, coroutines, flows, and performance optimization.
- Experience designing and maintaining modular architectures at scale.
- Experience owning and evolving SDKs or shared libraries used by multiple teams.
- Ability to design systems that are scalable, adaptable, observable, and resilient.
- Strong testing mindset: unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Experience with system observability: monitoring, logging, analytics, performance tracking.
- Data-driven mindset (A/B testing, feature flags, experimentation frameworks, impact measurement).
- Comfortable working in Scrum or other agile environments.
- Experience reviewing and elevating code quality across teams.
- Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction without direct authority.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to defend architectural decisions with clarity and pragmatism.
