About the role
- Serve as the primary relationship lead for a defined portfolio of clients, ensuring continuity across business unit handoffs.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client’s portfolio, investment strategy, and financing objectives to deliver proactive, strategic engagement.
- Identify, qualify, and advance financing and refinancing opportunities across assigned accounts.
- Drive account expansion through cross-selling Walker & Dunlop’s full suite of services.
- Lead onboarding and ongoing adoption of the WDSuite platform, ensuring alignment to client goals and measurable value realization.
- Translate client feedback into actionable insights for the Product team.
- Partner closely with Producers and internal stakeholders to align on account strategy, engagement timing, and opportunity development.
- Contribute to the development of scalable account management best practices and playbooks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; major in business, finance, technology, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in account management, customer success, or relationship management in a revenue-driven environment.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth through repeat business and account expansion.
- Prior experience in commercial real estate, financial services, or capital markets strongly preferred.
- Experience managing accounts using CRM and customer engagement platforms such as Salesforce, Gainsight, Power BI, or similar tools preferred.
- Experience working in organizations with shared client ownership models preferred.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to establish credibility with senior-level clients.
- Strong internal partnership and influencing skills; able to navigate organizational complexity and align stakeholders.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and change.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and position revenue opportunities.
- Understanding of portfolio strategy, financing structures, and lifecycle events that drive transaction activity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate value to clients and internal leaders.
- High level of comfort with technology platforms and data-driven tools.
- Highly organized with strong account planning, prioritization, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
