About the role
- Lead and support a cross-functional team of Frontend, Backend/API, and Quality Assurance engineers to achieve team objectives and milestones
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and planning through development, testing, customer feedback, and iteration
- Collaborate with Product Managers to break down features into technical requirements and delivery plans
- Provide architectural and design direction, manage technical debt, and promote engineering best practices
- Proactively identify and implement improvements across the full technology stack
- Build and maintain backend systems using Python, Airflow, PostgreSQL, and Kafka
- Partner with Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to expose and integrate data within web applications
- Collaborate with other Engineering Managers on cross-team initiatives such as CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and front-end logging
- Lead agile ceremonies and support effective team execution
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in an engineering leadership role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience designing and building public APIs using OpenAPI specifications and service-level contracts
- Experience working with mapping and location-based libraries (e.g., Mapbox)
- Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, event-driven architectures, and client-facing data applications
- Experience in the real estate domain is a plus
