Head of IT – Building a Group-wide IT Organization
WacomIT leader responsible for building and managing a cohesive IT organization across multiple subsidiaries. Collaborating closely with management for effective IT operations and stakeholder management.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish, further develop, and operationally lead a group-wide IT organization (matrix structure)
- Consolidate and harmonize the decentralized IT structures of the individual companies
- Ensure a stable, pragmatic, and service-oriented IT operations organization
- Work closely with the management teams of the individual entities as well as the group executive management
- Actively manage stakeholders across all companies
- Prioritize and steer ongoing IT initiatives in the face of competing requirements
- Build efficient processes without over-bureaucratization
- Ensure an appropriate level of IT maturity in all entities
- Lead and develop a distributed, heterogeneous IT team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Several years of experience leading IT organizations in a mid-market or decentralized corporate environment
- Proven experience in building or transforming IT structures (e.g., centralization, matrix organization, group IT)
- Strong hands-on mentality with operational execution capability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders
- Pragmatism over overengineering — you create solutions that work in daily operations
- Experience working with heterogeneous organizations and varying levels of IT maturity
- Not exclusively strategic or heavily governance-driven — execution-oriented
