About the role

  • Act as the primary technical interface between various Wabtec technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of Positive Train Control (PTC) systems on the Boké Railway as an on-site Wabtec representative.
  • Develop product knowledge and implement, test, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot PTC hardware and software components (Wayside, Communications, Onboard I-ETMS, IVOC, TMDS).
  • Develop knowledge of customer locomotives to lead troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain and configure IT equipment (routers, servers, etc.).
  • Provide leadership and guidance to installation crews to ensure installation accuracy, proper techniques, safety, and schedule adherence.
  • Prepare and provide technical training materials and conduct PTC-focused training for company field service and customer personnel.
  • Work with on-site customer resources and crews to ensure adherence to quality and workmanship standards.
  • Assist with or perform installation validation test procedures and assist customer installation crews with troubleshooting installation issues.
  • Communicate technical and operational details to stakeholders in PTC systems with both customer and Wabtec.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Project Management, Engineering/Civil or related field experience.
  • Experience in railway industry (Signals, Communications, Operations, Engineering, etc.).
  • Familiarity/proficiency using MS Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, MicroStation and/or similar office applications.
  • Experience with project planning/management systems/tools, scheduling, budget monitoring, and task execution.
  • Excellent communication skills required (verbal and written).
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees/management to promote good workflow.
  • Ability to effectively interact with external Departments, Funding/Regulatory Agencies, Vendors and Customer/s.
  • Ability to work long hours outdoors and in variable environmental weather conditions; ability to travel on challenging roads.
  • Ability to configure and maintain IT equipment (routers, servers, etc.).
  • Experience preparing and conducting technical training and installation validation tests.
