About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build production-grade applications across the full stack for Vynca Clinical
- Own features end-to-end, from backend APIs to frontend UI
- Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teammates
- Design and implement GraphQL and RESTful APIs using FastAPI and Strawberry GraphQL
- Build and maintain backend services supporting UI features, authentication flows, and patient/provider workflows
- Model data with SQLAlchemy and manage schema changes with Alembic
- Integrate with third-party APIs including HealthGorilla, Salesforce, PVerify, Google APIs, and Slack
- Write unit and integration tests using Pytest and testcontainers
- Maintain API security, access control, and logging practices
- Work with event-driven architecture, CQRS design patterns, HAPI FHIR Server, full-text/fuzzy search, and semantic search
- Build and maintain React and TypeScript features using functional components and hooks
- Implement responsive UI components with Material UI and Emotion
- Manage client-side state using Redux Toolkit, Formik, and Yup
- Integrate backend services through Apollo Client, GraphQL, REST APIs, and Axios
- Handle authentication flows with Auth0
- Build protected and dynamic routes with react-router-dom
- Write frontend unit and integration tests using Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and MSW
- Implement file uploads, PDF generation, digital signature capture, and custom surveys
- Use LaunchDarkly for feature flagging and Vite for builds and local development
- Participate in phone screens, online assessments, interviews, offers, and background/reference checks as applicable
- Perform essential duties using computer, laptop, video-conferencing, and occasional physical activities; occasional travel may be required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in full stack or frontend/backend development roles
- Proficiency in React and TypeScript
- Experience integrating GraphQL and REST APIs
- Familiarity with backend frameworks such as FastAPI or similar
- Knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Experience with ORMs such as SQLAlchemy
- Comfortable with Git, monorepos, and Yarn or similar package managers
- Frontend testing experience with Vitest and Testing Library
- Backend testing experience with Pytest
- Experience working in Agile teams using Jira and Scrum ceremonies
- Experience with healthcare, health tech, or another regulated industry
- Professional experience with Python/FastAPI and REST or GraphQL APIs
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing and able to travel to the San Mateo, CA office at least 2 days per week
- Advanced degree preferred
- Experience with Strawberry GraphQL or Apollo Server and HAPI FHIR preferred
- Familiarity with Auth0 and OAuth-based authentication preferred
- Experience with document generation or PDF handling preferred
- Exposure to Slack bots, email validation, or healthcare-specific data models preferred
- Experience with semantic search preferred
- Knowledge of secure systems adhering to law governance standards such as HIPPA preferred
