About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Learn and contribute to production infrastructure automation using Ansible and Terraform
- Assist in building and maintaining cloud-native services across VKE VLB and VCR
- Develop hands-on skills with Kubernetes and container runtimes through guided project work
- Write and improve tooling and scripts (Go, Python, Bash) to support platform operations
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows for platform services
- Dig into issues across networking containers and Linux systems with curiosity and persistence
- Contribute to Vultr's open-source tools and libraries with guidance from senior engineers
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as you build operational experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (Go, Python, Bash or similar)
- Basic understanding of Linux systems and command-line operations
- Interest in cloud infrastructure containers and Kubernetes (prior experience not required)
- Strong problem-solving instincts and willingness to dig into unfamiliar systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team
