About the role

  • Involved in managing, planning, producing, and implementing internal communications strategies and tactics for projects, programs, and services related to the VSP Vision employee experience and employment branding.
  • Serves multiple internal audiences and stakeholders in support of a differentiated and engaging workplace.
  • Develop and drives effective and integrated employee experience strategies, working with partners across multiple business units and the enterprise to support organizational goals and drive employee engagement, enablement, retention, and attraction.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to execute high-priority holistic employee experience and communication programs that meet company and enterprise objectives, including those in the areas of employee engagement, enablement, and workplace toolkit.
  • Serve as internal communications and employee experience subject matter expert, accountable for development, design, and execution of plans, and ensuring that processes and systems align with strategy.
  • Partner with GTS on employee-facing work tool implementation and strategy, including M365 environment, intranet management, and other emerging tools, such as AI.
  • Drive employee-centric communication plans to accelerate adoption.
  • Drive intranet content strategy and audience segmentation, keeping current on best practices and capabilities.
  • Deploy and design employee email campaigns in partnership with senior leadership, HRIS, and enterprise business partners.
  • Lead and/or participate in project meetings.
  • Proactively and openly articulate ideas and concerns with both corporate and project stakeholders, while balancing the objectives of both groups.
  • Identify business opportunities and manages major initiatives via research and analysis of trends and opportunities to understand evolving employee experience expectations and best practices.
  • Serve as a SME to other communication and market managers and demonstrates the department's best practices in all areas of internal communications and employee experience.
  • Manage internal communication projects, including planning, writing, approvals, tracking, reporting status, project budgets, and measurement of tactics.
  • Manage communication channels, processes, and workflows; recommend new and evolving channels based on employee needs.
  • Identify improvements to channels, processes, and workflows.
  • Advise and recommends effective communication approaches that meet the employee audience where they’re at and that are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Write and edits copy for various communication pieces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Human Resources or related experience
  • Six years’ experience in internal communications work, through a variety of mediums and customized content to varied employee audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and influence internal communication approaches and messaging based on audience segments
  • Skill to effectively use a variety of communication mediums and customize content for targeted audiences
  • Ability to use creative ideas to research, present and recommend employee experience proposals
  • Ability to problem solve, manage multiple projects simultaneously, plan strategically, and adapt to frequent change
  • Strong writing, editing, communication, presentation, organization, and planning skills
  • Ability to write documentation and reports that are clear, complete, and understood by both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to organize individual responsibilities for multiple tasks, resulting in the timely and accurate completion and delivery tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster cooperation amongst business partners and coordinate internal as well as external resource/workload
  • Ability to work with individuals from all levels of organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, employment branding platforms, and desktop publishing applications.
