About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end mission success of solid rocket propulsion system programs
Manage large multidisciplinary teams
Oversee complex systems engineering processes
Align technical execution with budgetary and schedule requirements
Direct the program’s end-to-end technical lifecycle through design reviews and qualification milestones
Ensure final systems are producible and compliant with technical data requirements
Balance technical execution against cost and schedule constraints
Maintain focus on the critical path and deconflict resources
Drive schedule performance through task span-time management and alternative execution strategies
Establish and maintain lean technical scope baselines
Monitor cost performance indices and challenge budget change requests
Serve as primary technical spokesperson for the program
Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
Present programmatic material, cultivate new business, and keep customer requests within authorized scope
Provide data-driven technical alternatives for collaborative decision-making
Travel up to 25%, including possible overnight travel to company sites or external test facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline
15 years of engineering experience
5+ years of technical leadership in solid rocket motors (SRMs)
Ability to lead cross-functional teams through design reviews and qualification milestones
Ability to ensure systems are producible and compliant with technical data requirements
Ability to manage cost and schedule constraints
Ability to maintain critical-path focus and deconflict resources
Experience establishing lean technical scope baselines and monitoring cost performance indices
Experience presenting programmatic material and managing internal and external stakeholders
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level
U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance
At least four years leading controllable solid rocket propulsion system projects with multidisciplinary teams of at least 10 people (preferred)
Current DoD Secret Security clearance (preferred)
Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 pounds
Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR requirements and eligible to obtain required export authorizations
